This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect users' personal data and applies to the www.rangercongress.europeanrangers.org website and all online services covered by the Privacy Policy. For the purposes of this policy, the following definitions shall be used:
"Data Protection Officer (DPO)" means a person who is responsible for monitoring the application of the GDPR and other applicable laws on the protection of natural persons involved in the processing of personal data and for performing the functions assigned to him/her by this Policy and other applicable laws.
"Personal data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ("data subject"); an identifiable natural person is a person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person;
"Processing" means any operation or set of operations which is performed upon personal data or sets of personal data, whether or not by automatic means, such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction;
"Restricting processing" means marking stored personal data for the purpose of limiting their processing in the future;
"Profiling" means any form of automated processing of personal data consisting of the use of personal data to evaluate certain personal aspects relating to an individual, in particular to analyse or predict aspects relating to the work performance, economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behaviour, location or movements of the natural person concerned;
"Data controller" means the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data; For the purposes of this Policy,
"Processor" shall mean Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Federation of Rangers.
"Data processor" shall mean a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which processes personal data on behalf of the Controller;
"Data recipient" means a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body to whom personal data are disclosed, whether a third party or not.
"Third party" means a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or body other than the data subject, the controller, the processor and the persons who, under the direct authority of the controller or the processor, are authorized to process personal data;
"Consent" of the data subject shall mean any freely given specific, informed and unequivocal indication of his or her free will by which the data subject signifies his or her agreement to personal data relating to him or her being processed by means of a statement or affirmative action;
"Personal data breach" means a breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or unauthorized access to, personal data transmitted, stored or otherwise processed;
Rights of the data subject
Individuals whose personal data is processed by Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Rangers Federation have the following rights:
β "Right to be informed" - to obtain the following information from Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Federation of Rangers:
- The name and contact details of Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Federation of Rangers, their representatives and the Data Protection Officer (if applicable);
- The purposes and the legal basis of the processing, the legitimate interests of Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Federation of Rangers;
- The categories of personal data obtained;
- Recipients of the personal data, including recipients in third countries or international organizations (if applicable) and reference to appropriate means and safeguards;
- The periods of retention of personal data and the criteria used to determine this period, provided that personal data shall be retained and processed for as long as required by law and regulation. Processing of personal data shall cease immediately if there is no longer any reason for such processing;
- The source of the personal data (if the personal data are not obtained from the data subject).
β "Right of access" - to obtain from Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Federation of Rangers confirmation that his/her personal data is being processed and/or the right to receive a copy of any record containing his/her personal data;
β "Right to rectification" - to obtain from Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Federation of Rangers, without undue delay, rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning him/her, completion of incomplete personal data, including by providing an additional statement;
β "The right to erasure" - to obtain from Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Federation of Rangers the erasure of personal data without undue delay (if the personal data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected);
β "Right to restrict processing" where the personal data are inaccurate; the processing is unlawful and the data subject requests restriction of the use of the personal data instead of erasure; the personal data are no longer necessary for the processing but are necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim; the data subject has objected to the processing for the period of time for which it is ascertained whether the legitimate rights of the controller prevail over the privacy of the data subject;
β "Right to object" at any time to the processing of personal data (including profiling based on these provisions and personal data processed for direct marketing purposes);
β "Right to withdraw consent" at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing based on consent, prior to the withdrawal of consent. Thus, the data subject understands and agrees that, in case of withdrawal, the purpose of the processing of personal data cannot be achieved;
β "The right to lodge a complaint to a supervisory authority", the Office of the Personal Data Protection Commissioner, if the data subject decides that his/her rights are violated;
What information we collect
For registration to the European Ranger Congress from October 6-10, 2025, we collect the following personal data:
- Full name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Payment details
- Other relevant information for Congress registration
In addition, Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Federation of Rangers and its service providers use a variety of techniques to collect other information about your use of the Site, including, but not limited to, your IP address, browser type, mobile device type, content visited while on the Site, and the duration of your visit to the Site. "Other Information" means any information that does not reveal your specific identity or that does not relate directly to an individual.
If you submit any personal information relating to other persons to us or our service providers in connection with the Site, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Rangers Association and the European Federation of Rangers and its service providers collect the personal information you provide while using the Site. Foundation Conservation Carpathia, the Romanian Ranger Association and the European Ranger Federation may, from time to time and in their sole discretion, modify this Privacy Policy. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be effective at the time we post the revised Privacy Policy on the Website. Your continued use of the Site following such changes means that you accept the revised Privacy Policy.

We attempt to use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect personal information within our organizations.
