Please go through them; if your dilemma is not among them, you can contact us from the "contact" section.

Registration & Participation

You can register here on the website. The registration deadline is initially open and will be announced in good time.

We have limited opportunities to support rangers with particularly limited financial resources. Please write to us directly at congress@europeanrangers.org so that we can process your request. You can get in touch with us on this behalf any time before, during and after registrations with chances the better the earlier you get in touch. It would help us a lot if you could also fill in this form.

If you are a confirmed speaker or workshop leader and rely on funding, we will check our possibilities to provide support. We kindly ask you to contact us directly at congress@europeanrangers.org about this question. The same applies for participation of volunteers. If you are interested in presenting a talk or workshop at the European Ranger Congress, please to the question “Can I present a talk or workshop at the Congress? What are the requirements?". If you would like to volunteer, please click the question “Are there any other ways to support the European Ranger Congress?”

You are very welcome to enable a ranger to attend the congress and thus contribute to the important exchange of experience between rangers across borders. Through our Ranger Leaves Programme, you will become part of a sponsor community that recognises and promotes the central work of rangers and the necessary exchange of knowledge. Read more here . Or contact us directly: congress@europeanrangers.org. We will liaise between you and rangers who cannot afford to participate without your help.

If you would like to support the 6th European Ranger Congress with voluntary work, material donations or in any other way, please contact congress@europeanrangers.org directly so that we can coordinate your offer. For financial donations, please click on the previous question.

First and foremost, the European Ranger Congress is dedicated to the exchange of experience and knowledge between rangers across borders. But of course we also welcome nature conservation experts and other specialists who are directly connected to the work of rangers, support and promote it. In the event that the congress is overbooked, we ask for your indulgence that we give priority to rangers.

There will be no automatic confirmation of participation for all participants. If you require such proof, please write to us at congress@europeanrangers.org so that you can receive a confirmation for your purpose.

Congress Programme & Activities

Learn more about the European Ranger Congress here.

The 6th European Ranger Congress is organised by the Romanian Ranger Association (Asociația Rangerilor din România - ARR), European Ranger Federation (ERF) and Foundation Conservation Carpathia (FCC). More information can be found here.

The 6th European Ranger Congress will take place from 6 to 10 October 2025 in the Cheile Grădiștei Resort, located between Piatra Craiului National Park and Bucegi Natural Park.

With its theme “Rangers – the Voice of Nature: Building a Bridge between Local Communities and Nature Conservation”, we will be looking at the manifold ways in which rangers reconnect people with nature, safeguarding both natural and cultural heritage. We will learn from best practice, discuss challenges and find solutions to strengthen rangers’ roles in building a bridge. For more information follow this link.

We designed a detailed program linked to the theme of the congress with talks and workshops that you can find here.

If you are still interested in submitting a proposal, please send it to congress@europeanrangers.org.

We are happy if you join us on the planned field trips (please see also here).

Please bring rainproof outdoor clothing and sturdy hiking shoes. It is always good to have several layers with you, which you can easily take off or swap depending on the weather. Binoculars and a rucksack for lunch and water are strongly recommended.

Promotional materials and brochures from your organisation are welcome to be shared or exchanged with other congress participants.

The congress normally offers a lot of opportunities for networking and bilateral meetings. These are mostly coffee and lunch breaks and evenings. Experience shows that your network will be much larger when you go home.

On Wednesday, 8 May, there will be a raffle in the evening. If possible, please bring special items from your area, e.g. ranger tools, outdoor equipment, pins and badges, personal crafts, etc., that will be of interest to the rangers. This can be a single item or a package, it's up to you. Beforehand, you can buy raffle tickets at €5 each for the various prices/packages. The winners will then be drawn from a lottery pot. The money collected will be donated to the Thin Green Line Foundation.

The Potluck Dinner will take place on the evening of Tuesday, 7th October. Please provide some specialities from your region.

General Assembly & Elections

The General Assembly will take place on Thursday, 9 October, before lunch in the conference hall. For details, please see the programme here.

Only ERF members can attend the General Assembly.

A transcript of the General Assembly will be provided to document the resolutions of the meeting.
